I'm in Wisconsin. Life is good. You won't hear much from me until mid-August.
I love you all.

So it's official that I'm not taking summer classes. I celebrated by buying myself a ticket to see Duran Duran in concert at Central Park in late May. One of my friends from home might be joining me, as well as my cousin's life partner, but I decided that I'm better off just buying my ticket now and planning on going with or without them. It cost me way too much money, but it's Duran Duran. How many times do I get to a concert like that? Not too often!
I'm starting to feel a little less stressed. I've been making weekly to-do lists to keep track of when I need to do certain things. It's been a big help.
My shit is all over the house. For serious.
But this month of May (back on that topic) is going to be fantastic! A full month of nothing but NYC, Jersey shore, and having the time of my life! Of course, I'm being shipped off to Wisconsin afterwards, but I'm so fucking ecstatic that it's unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a trim and my hair feels so much shorter and it's hard for me to get used to. I keep looking in the mirror and thinking to myself, "Where did my hair go?"
Ok, I'm going to go clean before Chicano lit.

Currently working on a list of movies I want to rent when I get home during winter break. So far, my list is:
1. Season seven of Sex and the City (I need to finish it, damnit!)
2. Dead Poets' Society
3. Thank You For Smoking
Any suggestions based on these three?

Visiting Andrea in Mexico for spring break is starting to sound more and more feasible. It just means that I pretty much can't spend any money in my bank account for the rest of the time that I'm here. As of now, I can afford it and will still have a couple hundred left in my bank account, but I feel like my finances will drop to shit once I get to Earlham. I wasn't planning on morning feeding next semester, but I might not have a choice with this money situation. Phoneathon, maybe?
I'm going to talk to my parents about it and see if maybe they'll go 50/50 like we did for independent travel or maybe contribute the money that they would've spent to have me go home.
Either way, there's no way in hell I'm going home. The fighting and the misery just isn't worth it.

Things about Paris that make me happy:
1. The men. I have yet to see an ugly man here.
2. The string quartet that performs in the metro station I go through to get to class
3. My host family
4. I can successfully give directions to people
5. The fact that I don't care when I get lost

Ben: Is there a past-subjunctive?
Candice: Yes.
Ben: What's it like?
Dan: It's amazing.
There's a mysterious appearance of a second bed in the room I used to sleep in...this probably means moving all my stuff back in there.
Also, soccer is amazingly fun to watch, especially when a really good seat only costs 5 euros.

I just found the portfolio that my senior year english teacher made for my class. Hot damn, she was an amazing teacher. Better than most teachers I've had at Earlham. She deserves so much better than the shit they're giving her at CHS.
I still remember when she defended racecar when the vice principal suspended him for one reason or another a few years ago.
I really should go visit CHS again. I should tell Mrs. Politi about how I'm going to France and possibly want to be a French teacher and how I'm glad she let me be a tutor even though I wasn't qualified for it. If Ms. Logeman's still there, I want to give her a hug and tell her how awesome she is and how Scott ruined my writing. I want to hug Mrs. Hershey and tell her about how I tried really hard to be a biology major but couldn't deal with cgi. I want to thank those few wonderful teachers there for being there.
10 days left at home. 5 more Spanish classes. Of course, we finally got to the point in the class where I left off at Earlham in 102. I'm pretty sure the teacher hates me, but I'm also pretty sure that she's insane.
~Sarah, who is getting really sick of her Spanish class
